Before Your Appointment — 1-2 Days Before
Declutter floor areas: Move small items, toys, books, and personal items off carpets. Anything sitting on carpet needs to be moved so we can clean underneath and around. No need to move everything — just clear sight lines to all floor surfaces. Expect 15-30 minutes of decluttering.
Alert us to pets and allergies: When booking or when we call to confirm, mention if you have pets, anyone with severe allergies, or other sensitivities. This helps us plan our approach and bring appropriate protective equipment.
Note any problem areas: If you know of specific stains, pet accidents, or heavily soiled areas, mention them. We assess these during cleaning and may apply targeted pre-treatment.
The Day Before Your Appointment
Vacuum all carpets: A quick vacuum the day before helps remove loose surface debris. This isn't required — our process handles all soil levels — but it helps our cleaning be even more effective by removing easy-to-pick-up surface dirt first.
Handle new spills: If fresh spills occur the day before, blot them (don't scrub). Tell us about them when we arrive. We'll apply spot treatment if needed.
Keep the area accessible: Make sure we can access your home easily. If the front door is locked, make sure someone is home to answer. If you have a garage or side entrance that's easier for equipment, let us know when confirming.
The Day of Your Appointment
Final furniture move: About 2-3 hours before your appointment, make final moves of furniture if you want it moved. We can move light furniture (chairs, small tables) if needed, but we appreciate if you move heavy pieces (sofas, beds, dressers) beforehand.
Clear the appointment window: We typically need 2-4 hours depending on home size. Have a 3-4 hour window available where access to your home is possible. You can be home during cleaning — many customers stay home and watch the process.
Plan pet/child care: You don't need to remove pets or children from the home — OxyMagic is safe for them. However, for your comfort, some families prefer to take kids or pets to a neighbor during cleaning. It's entirely your choice.
When we arrive: Be ready to show us any problem areas, discuss which rooms to prioritize, and answer quick questions about your carpet type or known problem spots.
What We Handle — You Don't Need To
You don't need to: Move heavy furniture — we can move light to moderate pieces, though you're welcome to move heavy items beforehand. Pre-treat stains — we have professional-grade solutions far more effective than DIY products. Prepare cleaning solutions — we bring all equipment and chemicals. Arrange for alternative furniture storage — for our 1-2 hour drying time, furniture returns to normal placement quickly.
We handle everything else: carpet assessment, pre-treatment as needed, full cleaning, furniture protection, and cleanup afterward. You just need to declutter and provide access.
